Cardiac Rehab
The cardiac rehabilitation services at DeKalb Regional Medical Center help people living with heart disease or who are recovering from a cardiac event like a heart attack or bypass surgery build endurance and strength. But it’s not all about the body’s strongest muscle. The program looks at the whole person, creating an individual plan that combines supervised exercise, education and lifestyle changes specific to each patient based on their age and abilities.
The cardiac rehabilitation program consists of 36 medically supervised exercise sessions designed to support recovery from a heart attack or open-heart surgery or to treat other heart conditions. In addition to exercise, the program gives patients support and resources to improve your diet, quit smoking, manage stress and lower your blood pressure.
